Work Mechanism

 

The Mechanism of Work of the Academic Guidance Units in the Faculty of Dentistry

 In the beginning of each academic year (or academic term) students distributed to a number of1academic instructors, each of whom shall take the number of students not exceeding 20 students through the scientific departments of the faculty


 In the first week of each academic year, students are called for a comprehensive meeting attended by academic instructors to provide students with the necessary information about the university stage and the system of study and to inform the students of their guides and duties towards them

 Acknowledging the new faculty members of the appointed or contract basis about the system of study

 Emphasis on the academic guides to activate the office hours to benefit from the request and alert students to review the academic guide when facing any problem or academic difficulties

 Requesting the Deanship of Admission and Registration to provide the Academic Guidance Unit with copies of student statements and copies of students' results for follow-up by the academic advisor

6. Emphasize academic advisors to conduct periodic meetings (at least twice a month) for students who guide them to identify
through such meetings the progress of students and try to solve the problems that may face them and record their status in the record of information and the discovery of cases that need help.

Identify outstanding students, and motivate them

8. Identify students who have an obstacles in their study process and whom have social, health or psychological problems and take care of them and guide them to solve their problems

9. Preparing records and papers for the work of the academic
guides

10. Hold periodic meetings with academic guides

11. Follow-up of students 'records with the academic guide to ensure the implementation of the academic guidance activity and the mobilization of students' data
